Below are examples of my work. As you can gather, I love color. I tend toward abstract landscapes of clouds and trees, but do also enjoy variations on these two subjects. I also love a little drama and fantasy, as I grew up loving to read these genres – was a huge fan of Shakespeare, Rowling, Tolkien. If you love my work, please check out my commissions page.’
Abstract Landscapes
I love blending colors, cloudy brushstrokes, and texture to create something ethereal and transcendent. All the paintings in this section reflect this, and out of everything I paint, I enjoy creating this type of work most. It genuinely lifts my mood to both paint and look at these. Clouds and Majesty is the work I use for my desktop and my laptop cover. Happy Rothko is my phone cover.

Trees
I’ve always been enthralled by trees, especially their changing foliage. To me, they represent the cyclic nature of all life, of how each sequential season brings about necessary change. In a way, the four seasons are like Joseph Campbells’ hero’s journey. Summer starts the journey (youth, innocence), fall continues it (call to growth, challenge), winter (suffering, seeming defeat), and ending in spring (rebirth).
Trees make us look up, help us touch the transcendent. As they grow, they get closer to the stars. Of course, even without all the metaphor, trees are also just beautiful.

Drawings
Drawing was the first media with which I fell in love. These three drawings in particular demonstrate my obsession with owls and flirtation with depicting literary characters (i.e. Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet).
I grew up in a home where my mother collected folk art owls, and both my parents, grandparents, aunt, uncles, and boyfriend attended/attend Rice University (the owl is the mascot) for various undergraduate and undergraduate degrees, and I grew up running around the school for cross country and track.
Throughout my childhood and into college, my family used to take vacation and go to Stratford, Ontario to watch (mostly) Shakespeare plays and musicals. This was the highlight of my year – seeing Westside Story at age 19 years old was the “peak of my life” at the time (this has since changed, but you get the point). In high school, my main hobbies were reading novels and attempting writing them (about 3 in total). I plan to continue making these works on request.
